The second option travels along the gravel road before heading into wide forest trails, across the dam wall and back along Lake Mangamahoe Road. This course is designed for:
- those runners/walkers completing all five events that are uncomfortable on technical trails.
- Runners/walkers that expect to take over an hour to complete the course - this option is the same distance but faster due to the terrain and elevation.
- Anyone wanting to avoid stairs and/or swing bridges.
