Course Details

The cross country starts from the gate and travels along the gravel road for 2km before turning onto the trails. Be prepared for a solid climb about 500m into this event but once you reach the top you'll enjoy an easy downhill.

As you turn onto the single track you'll be immersed in the bushy surrounds of the lake. It's an undulating run through this section with some twists and turns to keep things interesting.

About the 3km mark you'll hit a short but sharp climb where you'll turn right towards the finish line. Watch your step down this steep downhill, it's slippery when wet!

Two swing bridges will bring you through this last section with the final climb taking you to the scenic lookout over Lake Mangamahoe. If you have your phone this is the perfect spot for a photo!

The final section along the highway completes the cross country and not to be outdone the last few hundred metres will through in a few twists, turns and bumps to overcome.

If it's been raining you can expect the track to be muddy and slippery. Trail shoes are recommended (or atleast a pair you don't mind getting muddy)!
