why the 5km should be on your list
✅ Scenic & social – Start in the Bowl, loop the park trails, glide past Fountain Lake and the charming Poet’s Bridge, then brave Bowl Hill (only once, promise!). More downhill than up—wheeee!
✅ Family-friendly fun – Buggies (single only, please), strollers, and walkers are totally welcome. Just keep it lefty and let the peppy runners pass on the right.
✅ Medal for all – Everyone finishes with a medal, spot prizes at bib pickup, and heaps of high‑five opportunities.
✅ Age-diverse vibes – Categories from little legends (0–9, accompanied please), through teens, to grandparents tearing it up in the 65+ bracket.

Course details
The Pukekura Park 5km is a family friendly event and you can even bring your buggy.
All ages are encouraged to enter we just need anyone 11 years or under to have an accompanying adult with them at all times.
The start of the 5km is in front of the Brooklands Zoo. It then heads straight down Brooklands Park Road, along Victoria Road to Gilbert Street and back onto the Park trails.
Winding your way through the park you'll take in the sights of Fountain Lake and Poet's Bridge before finishing your first lap in front of the Bowl of Brooklands stage.
Then it's back around for lap two but first you have to climb the infamous Bowl Hill! The good news is you only have to do this once and the 5km overall has more down than up!
