Course Details

This half marathon has it all—beaches, trails, rivers, and stunning coastal views. Boredom? Not a chance.

Your journey starts at the iconic Wind Wand, right on New Plymouth’s picturesque waterfront. From there, it’s west along St Aubyn Street, winding through peaceful residential streets and soaking up glimpses of the coastline, all the way to Ngāmotu Beach.

Then comes the good stuff: the return trip along the Coastal Walkway is packed with postcard moments. You’ll glide past local surf clubs, cruise by Fitzroy Beach, and cross the breathtaking Te Rewa Rewa Bridge—an architectural showstopper.

From there, it’s around Lake Rotomanu, alongside the Waiwhakaiho River, and into the leafy calm of the Te Henui walkway—a favourite local trail with just enough shade to recharge your legs.

As you near the finish, the course loops back toward the Wind Wand before turning up the final straight to the line at Puke Ariki Landing—where high-fives, medals, and maybe a little happy dance await.
